Welcome To Your New House! Love, The Cats.
We haven't even been in our townhouse a full 24 hours and already a bit of drama.
Our screen door to our house does not close very quickly, sometimes it does not close all the way unless we help it a bit. I forgot to relay this information to Chad after he moved our cats in. He was moving a few things from his car to the house by way of the front door. I realize that I have not seen Wicket for quite some time. I mention this to Chad and he promptly gets the cats food and water dishes a refresh. Wicket is usually right there when this happens. We even think about filling up the food bowl and he starts following us around, meowing his furry little head off. Wicket does not make an appearance. I start to worry. So, before I let myself go into full freak-out mode, I grab a can of tuna and a can opener. Nothing. Jazz, meanwhile, is going nuts wanting tuna. Chad starts to do a thorough search of the house while I go outside whisper-yelling "Wicket! Wicket!" while letting a can of tuna slowly drip it's water all over the road and my hand. I'm starting to freak out and getting mad at myself for not telling Chad about the front door, and also getting mad at Chad for not noticing the front door issue. I'm also thinking about how I am not going to be the one to explain to Erik why his Wicket is missing. It didn't help that there are at least 2 other cats missing in our little townhome community. Chad and I then switch our searches, Chad taking to the streets and me tearing through the maze of boxes that is our house. By this point I am extremely frustrated and just yell the damn cat's name. I hear this rustling and a quiet Wicket meow as he emerges from behind the entertainment center. Well, he wasn't just behind the entertainment center. Our entertainment center is a few years old and was a Shopko special. This thing has also seen its fair share of homes over the four years we have had it. In short, the back is starting to come off, creating a bit of a gap in the back between the backing and the frame. Apparently, it is about a Wicket-sized gap. The cat was inside the entertainment center, usually where some of our gaming systems hide away when they are not packed away in boxes.
Damn stupid cat...
