Life's Insane and So Are We

Ugh

So I haven't been so good about updating this month. Sorry 'bout that. I've been spending a lot of my "free" time (aka when I'm not being stay-at-home-mom) either working or helping my mom move. I think Sunday will be the last day I'll have to haul stuff from GB to our place. My mom just keeps finding shit for me to take! Ugh. As a result, Chad and I have to find creative places to store things, like a twin mattress (now located under our bed).

Hey, know anyone who would want a twin bed frame? The "frame" is wood of a light color... perhaps a faux oak... and the bottom part which the mattress sits on have three nice size storage drawers and the headboard is a bookshelf. The bed is great, I slept on it for the better part of 5 or 6 years. However, due to how our place is configured, we cannot get the bottom piece up our stairs due to the 90 degree turn and it is now being stored in our garage. We haven't set a price on it yet and perhaps, if people are interested, we would be willing to sell the matching dresser and the mattress that had been used on the bed.

So...I meant to write more, but I've completely lost my train of thought. It's midnight and I'm exhausted. Hopefully I'll have a more coherent post this weekend.

Some Employment Acquired

So I have a part-time job. Nothing too extravagant, just a few hours to get me out of the house on evenings and weekends and get a little cash flow going as well. I'm a sales associate -- excuse me, style expert -- at Lane Bryant in Fox River Mall. The discount is nice :) Still searching for that full-time job though. Hopefully something will come up soon.

Other than that, nothing too exciting. Oh wait, we do have a new cat. Her name is Jazz and we rescued her from the Humane Society. She came with the name and we liked it enough to keep it. Although we should have renamed her Princess, cuz she sure acts like one. She's a sweetie but also the biggest attention whore as far as cats go.

Also, my mom sold her house and will be moving into her new place by the end of July.
Note: Do not put rubber-backed throw rugs on lower-grade linoleum as it will discolor the floor. Just ask my mom. She has to replace the flooring in the main bathroom and the kitchen due to her throw rug fetish. The person who bought the house is paying for half of the replacement cost, but still, not cheap.

Chad's family (well, his mom, brother and sister) will be visiting for the next 5-7 days, so I'll get more breaks from Erik aside from the couple days I work. Work... I'm working again after nearly nine months, nine months, of unemployment. Yay me!

In a couple weeks, Chad and I will be starting to donate plasma to bring in some more money. Since I'm off my Coumadin till at least after Christmas (yay again!) I should be able to do it. If we each donate twice a week every week of the month, that would be about $400 that we don't have coming in right now. That's 3/4 of a month's rent. I'll let you know how it goes.

Potty training has also commenced. Erik would sit on his muscial potty chair all day if I would let him.
