It's About F'n Time

After nearly two years, I think a Mommy-break is well deserved and much needed. So, this weekend I'm going out to Minnesota to visit with some friends and have a blast doing things that aren't related to my son. Love him dearly, but sometimes I need to rip off the "Mommy" Hat and put on the "Let's Do Adult Stuff" Hat.

Granted, Chad and Erik will be in MN too, but they will be helping Cahd's mom move and pretend that I'm not even in the state. After the day that Erik has given me today, I can't get to MN fast enough. (I will obey all traffic laws...within reason)

Speaking of traffic laws, I'm also an Official Driver Woman. A Still Unemployed Official Driver Woman Who Will Be Moving Next Weekend.

It's Officially Ice Cream Season

As of 2 minutes ago, according to weather.com, it is 80 degrees in GB! Spent about an hour and a half outside with Erik, just running around doing toddler-like things. Once he gets up from his nap we'll probably be heading out again. Today is a day that made me glad that I wasn't sitting in an office behind a desk somewhere.

Update

We've been approved for the duplex. We'll be moving in the weekend of May 6. If any of you will be in the GB/Appleton area that weekend please let us know. The more people the faster it goes. Hopefully it'll be only furniture that we'll be moving. I'm hoping that we'll have most of the boxes already there by then so the move will be as fast as possible.

A Place to Call Home?

Today we spent about half the day in the Appleton area looking at various places to live. We found a place we really like, and we hope we can get it. It's a block away from a nice park and about 5 minutes for Chad to get to work instead of the 45 minute drive he has now. It's a 3 bedroom older duplex. Older as in the building has to be nearing the century mark, but in good shape none the less. Anyone going to be in GB sometime in May :)??. Course, nothing is in stone yet, we have to be approved and all that, but I doubt that'll be a problem. The real nice thing is that rent is only $25 more than what we're paying my mom. Granted, no utilities would be included in the duplex rent, but with the money we'd be saving on gas alone should make that a non-issue. I will keep you updated.
